Windsurfing Accessories

Once you have your board and your rig sorted out, there are a few little bits and pieces you'll need or want to enjoy the thrills of windsurfing. Some are essential, some are optional, but all are available at Board Crazy.

Fins - although a small part of a sailboard set-up, the fin is a very important part, as the fin works against the forces supplied by the sail to zoom you across the water. As such, fins come in different sizes and shapes for different styles for sailing.

Footstraps - once you reach a level of proficiency, you'll be able to hook your feet into the footstraps behind the rig, and drive off the fin even more effectively than using the traction of your footsies.

Pads - protect the board, the rig and yourself from any knocks - whether whilst learning or while just going hard.

Uphauls - when you get advanced enough in the sport, you'll be able to get up and get going, just by using the wind to yank the sail and you out of the water. When you are learning, or in really light winds, you'll need to stand on the board and drag the rig upright. To to this, an uphaul is what you need!
